FAQ
What the API does, in plain answers
Everything a first evaluation asks: engines, countries, what a credit buys, what the response leaves out. Endpoint-level detail lives in the docs.
What is SerpResult?
SerpResult is a SERP API: a REST endpoint that runs a search on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Brave or Yandex from a country you choose and returns the organic results as JSON. You send a query, a target engine and a two-letter country code; you get back a ranked list of position, title, url, domain and snippet.
Is SerpResult a Google Search API?
Yes, with google_search as the default target. Unlike Google's Custom Search JSON API, which is closed to new customers and ends in January 2027, SerpResult returns the ranked organic results of the live Google results page for any of 193 countries, up to 20 results per page and pages 1 to 5.
Which search engines are supported?
Six targets with one response shape: google_search, bing_search, duckduckgo_search, yahoo_search, brave_search and yandex_search. Switching engine is changing one query parameter; the JSON you parse does not change.
Which countries can I search from?
193 countries by ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code, from us and gb to ae, jp, br and za. The search is resolved from an exit inside the country you name, so the ranking matches what a person there would see. The full list is in the docs at https://docs.serpresult.com/.
How much does SerpResult cost?
Every new account gets 100 free searches with no card. Paid plans are Starter at $9/month for 5,000 searches, Growth at $49/month for 75,000, and Business at $99/month for 200,000. Extra volume is bought as prepaid credit packs from $0.60 per 1,000 searches that never expire. The price is the same direct and on RapidAPI.
What does one credit buy?
One search: one query, one target, one country, one page. A bulk request of 50 queries costs 50 credits. Requests rejected for a bad parameter cost nothing.
Is SerpResult cheaper than SerpApi?
Per search, yes by a wide margin. SerpApi's entry plan is $25 for 1,000 searches, $25 per 1,000. SerpResult's entry plan is $9 for 5,000, $1.80 per 1,000, and Growth works out to $0.65 per 1,000. SerpApi parses every SERP feature; SerpResult returns only the organic list. Pick by what you need.
How is SerpResult different from Serper?
Serper is Google only and sells prepaid credits that expire after six months, from $1.00 per 1,000 at the smallest block down to $0.30 per 1,000 for a $3,750 block. SerpResult covers six engines, sells monthly plans from $9, and its credit packs never expire.
Does the API return ads, knowledge panels or People Also Ask?
No. The response is the ranked organic list and nothing else. Ads and SERP features change shape constantly and are the usual reason a SERP integration breaks, so they are deliberately left out.
Can I get more than 10 results per page?
google_search, bing_search and brave_search return up to 20 results per page. duckduckgo_search, yahoo_search and yandex_search cap at 10. google_search, brave_search and yandex_search page to 5; the others serve page 1.
Is there a bulk endpoint?
Yes. POST /v1/bulk takes up to 50 queries in one request and answers each one in the same shape as /v1/query. Each query is billed as one credit.
Are results cached?
Yes. A response is cached for up to 3600 seconds by default and you can shorten that with max_age. A cached answer still costs one credit.
Can I use SerpResult from an AI agent or MCP client?
Yes. SerpResult ships a hosted MCP server that Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients connect to as a custom connector, so an assistant can run a live web search with one tool call. Setup is in the docs.
Is there a free plan?
There is a free trial of 100 searches granted once per email address, with no card and no expiry. There is no recurring free tier; when the trial is spent you pick a plan.
How do I authenticate?
Create an API key in the dashboard and send it as Authorization: Bearer sk_live_.... Keys are shown once and stored hashed. Test keys (sk_test_) run against the same API at a lower rate limit.
Is SerpResult on RapidAPI?
Yes, at https://rapidapi.com/team-1rJ64ZBO_/api/serpresult, with the same plans and prices as buying direct.
