FAQ
Credits, plainly
What do I get for free?
100 requests, once. Every new account is granted 100 free requests at signup, one grant per email address. No card, and they never reset. When they are gone you pick a plan.
What counts as one credit?
One search, on any target and in any country. Every search that runs costs one credit, and the response reports it in the X-Credits-Used header.
Does a bulk request cost less?
No. A bulk call is billed per query inside it, exactly as if each one had been sent on its own. Bulk saves round trips, not credits.
Do failed searches cost anything?
A request rejected for a bad parameter costs nothing. A search the upstream engine failed to answer is charged, because the fetch was performed and only the answer is missing.
Direct or RapidAPI?
The same API, the same quotas, the same keys and the same price. Buy on RapidAPI if the marketplace invoice is easier for you to expense, or if you are already subscribed to other APIs there. Buy direct if you would rather hold the account with us.
What happens when I use up my quota?
Searching stops and calls answer 402 quota_exceeded. On the free 100 there is no reset date to wait for, so the next step is a plan. On a paid plan you either wait for the cycle to renew or buy a credit pack from the billing page: pay through Polar and the credits are on the account straight away. Nothing is ever billed to you after the fact.
What does a credit pack cost?
Packs come in 10,000, 50,000, 100,000 credits, priced at your plan's rate per 1,000: Starter $1.50, Growth $0.80, Business $0.60. On Starter that is $15 / $75 / $150. A pack needs an active paid plan; the free trial does not buy them.
Do pack credits expire?
No. Pack credits sit on the account until you spend them. They survive a renewal, an upgrade, a downgrade and a cancellation, and they are still usable after the subscription ends. Each cycle spends the monthly quota first and only then touches the pack balance.
When does my quota reset?
On your billing cycle. A plan taken on the 14th renews, and resets the counter, on the 14th of every month. Unused requests do not carry over. A plan held through RapidAPI runs on the calendar month in UTC instead.
Who takes the payment?
Polar, our merchant of record. Polar runs the checkout, collects the payment, handles the tax and issues every invoice, and your card is stored with Polar rather than with us.
Can I change or cancel a plan?
Yes, from the billing page in the dashboard. An upgrade applies immediately and the price difference is invoiced then; a downgrade applies at the end of the period you have paid for. Manage billing opens the Polar portal, where you can update the card, download invoices or cancel, and access runs to the end of the paid period.
Can I get a refund?
No. Payments are final. You can cancel any time and keep using the plan until the end of the paid period, and credit packs never expire, but nothing is refunded.
